Grad Photo Day Preparation

We look forward to seeing you for grad photos! It is an annual highlight for us at Island Life Photographics, and we are excited to work with each of you. Outlined below are a few tips for photo day preparation:

Facial Preparation
  • Wash your face to prevent oily shine.
  • Touch up blemishes, but avoid too much makeup.
  • Clean-shaven - stubble cannot be retouched.

What to wear
  • A long or short-sleeved scoop or V-neck top for the neckline.
  • A dress shirt and tie, or we'll have a shirt and tie on hand if you need one (make sure to wear a t-shirt).
  • Solid coloured, non-patterned turtle neck.
  • Be prepared to remove hoodies and bulky clothing, and wear a light material top to fit under the gown.

Other
  • Wrists, hands, and fingernails are visible in photos when you hold flowers
  • and/or the diploma prop.
  • Check your fingernails.
  • Remove elastic hair bands from your wrist(s) as they leave a mark.
  • Only wear necklaces that you want to show in your photo.
  • Please do not wear a hat before your session; they sometimes leave a mark on your forehead.
